Edinburgh, Scotland

Robert Louis Stevenson wrote, "Edinburgh is what Paris ought to be," and I tend to agree. I have had nothing but hostile experiences in Paris and I only have pleasant memories of Edinburgh. Maybe it was the friendly people. But maybe it was the crafts. As a private school girl, I know a thing or two about plaid, and being able to go to a Tartan factory was awesome. Weaving+Plaid=Ashley having a good time.

And I can't forget the sketchy yarn-spinning woman.
Sure, she was a bit of a tourist trap, but I fell in headfirst. She was spinning wool yarn dyed with wild berries. Psych! So of course I bought some. And I'm still glad I did.

Crafty Trails!

  2. I must go there...my husband is a Stewart and I want to cover a cushion for a leather couch with his plaid.
